Job Overview:
Our maintenance technicians play a key role in our success by maintaining all equipment in our plants. Your day will be a combination of troubleshooting, repair work, preventative maintenance, scheduling and communicating to leadership. The following is a list of some of the areas the position is responsible for: maintaining dock doors and levelers, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, compressors, 480 voltage three-phase motors/controls, physical plant improvements and repair, utilities, and other assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Frequently review and report to the Plant Maintenance Manager the operation of plant equipment and systems, to minimize downtime, solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Train and coach machine operators in the proper use of plant equipment and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Coordinate production startups and shutdowns, with supervisors and General Manager.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and the Purchasing department the timely needs of replacement parts and supplies.
- Configure equipment and facility within standard safety OSHA operating procedures and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Must have good communication skills and comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback with all Shift Supervisors, Plant Manager, and employees while supporting and carrying out LEAN management work practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials common to maintenance professionals.
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand and/or walk 10 hour days
- Must be able to lift and/or carry 50lbs
